Imagine you've been asked to re-build a kitchen from scratch. Now, with no prior knowledge or experience, you're going to feel a little overwhelmed and probably very confused on where to start.
The same premise applies to Chinese herbal supplements - taking these remedies spontaneously with no rhythm is like repeatedly barking up the wrong tree!
Getting into the right flow of supplementation can take some time for newbies to get used to, but in the long run you'll thank yourself and the results will speak for themselves.
So, to ensure you hit the spot every time you use Chinese herbal supplements, here's how to get best results with your natural remedies...
Where Do I Start?
Young Jedi, it's time to chose the best natural remedy for your health goals.
Once you've decided on a formula which aligns with your long-term aims, it's time to unlock your full potential.
How Often Should I Take These Supplements?
Our daily recommended dosage for the majority of the Chinese herbal supplements is 6 tablets*. Some formulas recommend 4 tablets* daily to assist with health and wellbeing goals. Please see below the list of supplements which recommend this alteration in dosage:
Ban Xia Hou Pu Tang 半夏厚朴汤 (Pinellia & Magnolia Bark)
Guan Jie Yan Wan 关节炎丸 (Mulberry Leaves & Job's Tears)
Gui Zhi Tang 桂枝汤 (Cinnamon Twig & White Peony)
Li Zhong Wan 理中汤 (White Atractylodis Rhizome & Ginseng)
Xiang Sha Liu Jun Zi Tang 香砂六君子汤 (China Root & White Atractylodis)
Xiao Chai Hu Tang 小柴胡汤 (Thorowax Root & Panax Ginseng)
The traditional way of taking these is three tablets, twice a day (morning and evening). For supplements that require 4 tablets daily, take two twice a day.
Some of the Aura team prefer to take these with breakfast in the morning, and just before bed in the evening.
*We always recommend consulting a Chinese medical practitioner prior to starting supplementation, as they will be able to give tailored advice on your personal recommended daily dosage.
How Long Does Each Formula Last For?
Each bottle of Aura contains 60 tablets. Following the recommended daily intake, this will last 10 days when consuming 6 tablets per day, and 15 days when consuming 4 tablets per day.
If you have been advised to take a lower dosage by your Chinese medical practitioner, these formulas may last up to 2/3 weeks.
What's the Concentration Ratio In These Supplements?
On first glance, if you're not experienced with herbal supplementation, it may be difficult to determine the concentration ratio from just the bottle itself.
Luckily, the concentration ratio of our products has been standardised to 5:1, meaning a single bottle of Aura weighs 36g and is equivalent to 180g of raw herbs (for example, if the recommended dosage is 3 tablets twice daily, this provides 3.6g which equates to 18g of raw herbs).
All herbs used in the Aura supplement range have been extracted in either water or alcohol to achieve the purest and highest quality end product.
Each formula needs to be decocted differently (colours on the bottle), depending on the chemical components of each herb to produce an authentic product based on the traditional Chinese pharmacopoeia.
When Should I Expect to See Results?
As the age old saying goes, good things come to those who wait!
With regular supplementation, you should start to see and feel results within 3 months, although this time frame may differ between individuals taking different daily dosages.
