With persistent changes in weather leading up to Spring, trying to shift thick phlegm and mucus is a tough nut to crack in itself. Waking up in the middle of the night coughing and spluttering isn't one of the most desirable scenarios to experience.
Including supplementation into your daily routine can be an easy way to clear your throat and lungs naturally, with the help of authentic herbal ingredients.
So, to unblock those channels to revitalise your soul, here's how natural remedies may help...
What Causes Phlegm & Mucus?
Phlegm is a form of mucus which forms in the lungs and lower respiratory system. Mucus itself is required for a healthy body to function, but too much of this substance can lead to discomfort.
The culprits for producing excessive mucus are infections, allergies, digestive concerns, smoking and lung conditions.
How to Get Rid of Phlegm & Mucus Naturally In Short-Term
Following these recommendations can help you to feel better in the short-term:
- Stay hydrated
- Continue to remove phlegm from the body
- Allow yourself to cough
- Keep your head elevated to stimulate blood flow
- Stay warm

Our daily recommended dosage of Chinese herbal supplements is 6 tablets*.
The traditional way of taking these is three tablets, twice a day (morning and evening).
Some of the Aura team prefer to take these with breakfast in the morning, and just before bed in the evening.
*We always recommend consulting a Chinese medical practitioner prior to starting supplementation, as they will be able to give tailored advice on your personal recommended daily dosage.
How Long Does Each Formula Last For?
Each bottle of Aura contains 60 tablets. Following the recommended daily intake, this will last 10 days when consuming 6 tablets per day to assist your wellbeing goals.
If you have been advised to take a lower dosage by your Chinese medical practitioner, these formulas may last up to 2 weeks.
What's the Concentration Ratio In These Supplements?
On first glance, as shown by my perplexed expression, it may be difficult to determine the concentration ratio from just the bottle itself.
Luckily, the concentration ratio of our products has been standardised to 5:1, meaning a single bottle of Aura weighs 36g and is equivalent to 180g of raw herbs (for example, if the recommended dosage is 3 tablets twice daily, this provides 3.6g which equates to 18g of raw herbs).
All herbs used in the Aura supplement range have been extracted in either water or alcohol to achieve the purest and highest quality end product.
Each formula needs to be decocted differently (colours on the bottle), depending on the chemical components of each herb to produce an authentic product based on the traditional Chinese pharmacopoeia.
When Should I Expect to See Results?
As the age old saying goes, good things come to those who wait!
With regular supplementation, you should start to see and feel results within 3 months, although this time frame may differ between individuals taking different daily dosages.
