Fertility Supplements
Three natural fertility supplements, all built on old Chinese recipes. One was written with women in mind and two with men. A lot of the couples who buy these come to us through their acupuncturist, and honestly that's the best way to do it. Here's what each one is and where it comes from.

A bit of history
Fertility supplements: an ancient worry
Trying for a baby has been on people's minds for as long as there have been people. Some of the oldest Chinese medical texts have whole chapters on it, for women and men alike, which was fairly forward-thinking for the time.
Herbalists believed you should prepare for a few months first. Warm and nourish her, top up his reserves, and then try. A lot of acupuncturists in the UK still work in roughly three-month blocks for exactly that reason.

The herbs behind our fertility supplements
Seeds and berries feature heavily, which probably isn't a coincidence.

Stuff that actually makes a difference
Straight from NHS advice, mostly. Worth doing together.
- 1Folic acidFor her, 400 micrograms a day from when you start trying. That one's not optional.
- 2Cut back the drinkFor both of you. Smoking too, obviously.
- 3Keep things coolFor him. Laptops on laps and very hot baths aren't ideal.
- 4Talk to your GPTrying for a year with no luck, or six months if she's over 35? Book in.

Do fertility supplements actually work?
We won't pretend we can promise a baby, nobody honestly can. These are traditional formulas that couples have turned to for centuries, usually alongside acupuncture and good habits. They're food supplements, not a fertility treatment.
What are the best fertility supplements in the UK?
There isn't one best for everyone, because what suits her and what suits him are different things. For women, herbalists have long reached for Nuan Gong Yun Zi Wan. For men, Wu Zi Yan Zong Wan is the classic. Whichever you go for, check it's properly tested. Ours are 5:1 strength and SGS lab tested, and we post them from here in the UK.
What are the main Chinese herbs for fertility?
For him, mostly seeds and berries. Goji, dodder seed, that sort of thing. For her, warm roots like dong quai and eucommia. You'll spot all four on this page if you scroll back up.
Can we both take them?
Yes, that's quite common. Nuan Gong Yun Zi Wan is the one made with women in mind, and Wu Zi Yan Zong Wan or Jin Suo Gu Jing Wan for him.
What are the best fertility supplements for men?
Wu Zi Yan Zong Wan and Jin Suo Gu Jing Wan. Wu Zi Yan Zong Wan is the classic, five seeds and berries whose name is all about carrying on the family line. Herbalists usually suggest he takes it for a good three months, since that's roughly how long sperm take to develop.
Can I take these alongside IVF?
Please talk to your fertility clinic first. Some clinics are fine with it, others ask you to stop all supplements during treatment.
And if it happens?
Then that's wonderful news! Pop the tablets in a drawer and have a chat with your midwife or GP before you take anything else.
And one bottle lasts how long?
Ten days at six tablets a day. If you're working in three-month blocks, the 6-bottle pack is the sensible option.

Just so we're clear: food supplements aren't a replacement for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle, and they aren't meant to diagnose, treat or cure anything.
